WI-7 (D)
Current office holder: Sean Duffy (R)
Margaret is a 24-year retired veteran of the United States Military. Following her active duty enlistment in the Navy, she worked as a union locomotive electrician and train dispatcher for the BNSF Railroad before attending college and graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She then worked as a Deputy Sheriff of Corrections at the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth, Minnesota for two and a half years and applied to University of Wisconsin Law School. After earning her law degree, Margaret settled in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin and practiced law.
How does Margaret align with Project 100's values?
  • Economic Opportunity: Margaret supports an inclusive economy. To build strong rural economies, she believes we must invest in our rural infrastructure. That means quality broadband for businesses and individuals, as well as better highway and rail networks to connect rural communities in Wisconsin to regional, national, and global markets. She supports a $15/hour federal minimum wage.
  • Equal Treatment Under the Law: The candidate's stance on this issue area is currently unknown.
  • Healthy People & Communities: Margaret wants to establish a single-payer Medicare for All public health insurance program that covers everyone from the day they are born until the day they die so that never again does anyone have to worry about losing their health insurance. Margaret believes climate change is real and the United States must invest aggressively in a clean energy economy.
