Current office holder: Jeff Flake (R)
Representative Sinema has won three terms in US Congress representing Arizona's 9th District and is now running to fill the seat that will be vacated by Republican Senator Jeff Flake. She is a political moderate, which matches Arizona's red-to-purple demographic. Representative Sinema made history in 2012 when she became the first openly bisexual person elected to the U.S. House. If she wins this Senate race, she will become the first out bisexual in the U.S. Senate, doubling the Senate LGBT+ representation of Senator Tammy Baldwin. She will be facing Republican Martha McSally in November.
