Congressmember Chu was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2009 and was the first Chinese-American Congressmember to be elected. She has lived in Montgomery Park and served her community for more than 30 years, beginning her career on the Board of Education for Garvey School District in 1985, serving as Mayor, State Assemblymember, and on the State Board of Equalization. In Congress, she is the Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. She also helped found and co-chairs the Congressional Creative Rights Caucus and is a member of the House Small Business Committee.

  • Economic Opportunity: Congressmember Chu believes in government's role in strengthening the middle class, investing in small businesses, and developing the workforce.
