Congressmember Meng was first elected to Congress in 2012, initially running for office because she felt there were problems with Washington. Now, nearly four years later, many of the same obstacles remain. She is renewing her commitment to help make Washington work for the people because she feels that Americans deserve better. She is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, is a Senior Whip and Regional Whip for New York, founder and Co-Chair of the Kids’ Safety Caucus, and has passed several important pieces of legislation.
