Ann L. Kirkpatrick

AZ-2 (D)
Current office holder: Martha McSally (R)
After serving as a Congressmember for six years in Arizona's First District and challenging Senator John McCain for Arizona Senate, Ann is now challenging Representative Martha McSally who has been a leader in GOP plans to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Ann said of her run: "I've been hearing from folks for months that there's so much at stake for our country right now: health care, the climate, our standing in the world, even the very fundamentals of democracy. They want a leader in Congress who can be a check on (President) Donald Trump."
How does Ann align with Project 100's values?
  • Economic Opportunity: Ann supports raising the federal minimum wage and increasing federal student financial aid such as Pell grants.
  • Equal Treatment Under the Law: Ann supports the DREAM Act, and has called for comprehensive reform of US immigration policy. She has been a vocal supporter for tribal Indians.
  • Healthy People & Communities: Ann opposes repealing the Affordable Care Act, but acknowledges Congress needs to address the legislations' problems. She also supports stricter gun control legislations.
