Congressmember Adams was first elected to Congress in 2014. Recognized as a champion for the middle class due to her efforts to raise the minimum wage, she wants to continue fighting to have Congress focus on issues that matter most to her constituents. While serving in Congress she worked to expand the Charlotte Area Transit System and Douglas International Airport and launched the Adams' Hunger Initiative. She is an educator and an artist who has had a distinguished career serving in the North Carolina House of Representatives, the School Board, and City Council.
